We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, and we’re pleased to share a range of new features and improvements across Namhost.
From advanced domain management and improved billing tools to stronger account security and support enhancements, these updates are designed to give you more control and make managing your services easier.
Here’s an overview of what’s new.
Domain Management
In the past, advanced domain changes often required a support ticket. Now, for the vast majority of TLDs, you can manage these settings directly from your control panel.
You can now:
- Lock or unlock your domain
- Request an EPP code for domain transfers
- Modify nameservers
- Update registrant and other domain contact details
- Migrate a domain to another Namhost account
- Renew a domain name for multiple years
You can also continue to use existing features such as:
- Enabling ID Protection
- Cancelling a domain
Hosting Management
You can now migrate your hosting account to another Namhost account yourself, without needing to open a support ticket.
This makes account management faster and more flexible. The full process is explained in more detail here.
Credit
We’ve added new ways to manage account credit directly from your dashboard.
You can now:
- Add credit to your account from the user dashboard
- Enable the option to automatically apply available credit to invoices due
- It is also possible to apply credit to invoices manually
This makes it easier to keep your services active and simplify your billing workflow.
Security Improvements
Security remains one of our highest priorities.
Many clients already know that Namhost supports YubiKey authentication and Google Authenticator, giving you an added layer of hardware-based account protection. We’ve now introduced even more security features to help protect your account.
Browser Validation
When you log in from a browser for the first time, a one-time PIN will be sent to your email address. You’ll need to enter this PIN before you can access your account.
This adds an extra layer of protection and can also alert you if someone else attempts to log in using your credentials.

Backup Email Address
You can now set a backup email address on your account.
This is especially useful if you lose access to your primary email address, as it allows our administrators to assist you more easily in recovering access to your account.
New Payment Gateway
We have switched to Paystack as our payment gateway.
At the moment, this does not change the payment methods currently available, and credit card payments remain the standard option. However, this upgrade lays the groundwork for additional payment methods in the near future, including:
- Apple Pay
- SnapScan
- Instant Bank transfer
- Other options as they are rolled out
We expect to begin introducing some of these payment methods over the coming months.
Invoice Changes
We’ve updated the way invoices are issued.
Previously, we generated standard tax invoices upfront. We now issue pro forma invoices, and once payment is received, a Tax Invoice Receipt is sent to you.
This aligns our invoicing process more closely with standard billing practice.

Support Desk Changes
We’ve introduced a new ticket rating system to improve the support experience.
This allows clients to:
- Rate the support they received
- Leave additional feedback
- Reopen tickets more easily if an issue has not been fully resolved
These changes help us identify areas for improvement and continue raising the standard of support we provide.
Referral Program — Coming Soon
We’ve also laid the foundation for a new Namhost referral program.
Once launched, this program will allow clients to earn recurring income by referring new customers. In simple terms, when someone signs up using your referral code, you’ll earn commission for as long as they remain a Namhost client.
Planned (not finalized) commission rates are:
- 5% on shared hosting
- 2% on dedicated servers and VPS
- R/N$10 for each domain name registered or renewed
The referral program is not yet live, but more details will be shared once the terms and conditions have been finalized.
