Most servers are configured to prevent brute-force attacks. Brute-force attacks are a trial and error method used by application programs to decode encrypted data such as passwords, through extensive effort (using brute force).

When you accidentally enter a wrong password multiple times either on cPanel, Webmail or configure your email client with wrong credentials or unintentionally try to gain SSH access to a server through the wrong port multiple times a server sees it as a brute force attack. The server will then block your IP address to prevent any security compromise.

Always make sure to have the correct login credentials on hand before attempting to log in on any platform hosted on a server. If you notice your login attempts fail please contact us right away.
