Responsive Design

Intro

Responsive web design (RWD) is a design strategy aimed at providing the end-user with an optimal viewing experience - easy navigation and reading with minimum scrolling and panning - across a wide range of screen sizes (desktop computer monitors to mobile devices)

A site designs using RWD uses a fluid, proportion-based grid layout, CSS3 Media Queries and flexible (resizable) images to ensure the site adapts to the screen size of the device it is viewed on and as this screen size changes.

Namhost and RWD

The design team at Namhost are fluent in all technologies required to create a completely responsive website layout. We've practiced these skills on a large amount of projects and our own website (the one you are reading this on) also makes use of these technologies. Go ahead, resize your window to see this website adapt to the window size!

Why Responsive?

Mobile devices are used increasingly to browse the internet. On almost every single Namhost-built website we have seen a massive increase in the number of mobile users. It is extremely important to cater for these users and not have your website's layout limit the exposure your company can get through it.
