Database Design has come a long way in the last few years. While MySQL remains a very popular choice, we have seen quite an increase in the number of PostgreSQL work required in the last two years. There has also been a demand for specialized database solutions where in some cases, less well-known technologies like MongoDB has been chosen as better options for specific problems.
What is Database Design?
Database design primarily deals with structuring data, but also includes the manipulation of data through SQL queries. Database design is the first step to designing a database-driven solution. Many solutions out there, such as Drupal, takes away a lot of the effort required to make communication with a database possible, but even in these cases you will need someone to structure the data and decide what is the best way to put a system together.
What technologies do you use?
We are highly experienced in MySQL and PostgreSQL, but have assisted clients with other database technologies like MongoDB, Ms SQL Server, Flat File Databases and Access Databases.
For a system to function properly, it needs a properly implemented database system. We have built thousands of databases from the ground up and we know how to structure data correctly.
