SEO Tip #2: Know your backlinks
Page Rank is determined by something called backlinks. Backlinks are, simply put, the number of links going back to your website from other websites on the internet. There is no doubt that this is one of the most important factors in SEO today. You need to actively pursue getting more quality backlinks if you plan to succeed with SEO. Luckily, there are hundreds of ways to get more backlinks.
However, the more important question is, how do you know how many backlinks you have? There is no way to know for sure. Some search engines might have indexed a bigger portion of the websites out there than another search engine, for example. The trick is to choose one method and then stick to that method when comparing metrics across different sites.
We recommend: Open Site Explorer
OpenSiteExplorer.org will allow you to easily enter any website adress and see exactly how many backlinks they have and where these backlinks are located. Very useful, very fast and a great way to check and compare many of your sites consistently. It's also very useful to see how many links your competitors have, and more importantly, where their links are showing up.

Is an e-mail legally binding?
Laws vary from place to place, so in order to know for sure, you will have to contact authorities in your area. However the general consensus would no doubtedly be yes. Reason being, an e-mail that blatantly states that you will do something in return for something else, is a legal agreement.
Even though laws differ, the general principles remain the same: "if two parties enter into an agreement with their eyes wide open, and if the agreement is not egregiously unfair, and if both parties are competent and both parties have signified their understanding and acceptance of the terms", then you have a legal agreement.
A legal agreement, simply put, means that if one party agrees to doing something in return for something else, both parties are obligated to fulfil their duties. The problem usually arises when one party doesn't.
Bottom Line:
Yes, e-mails will most probably be legally binding in your country. However, if we can advise you, rather get a proper contract in place for big projects. We use contracts and it really does make a difference, even if its just for clarity on things you wouldn't normally have thought of.

Amazing SEO Tip #2
This is not so much a tip as it is a warning. Want to do some serious damage to the SEO of your website? Do what I did and park a domain unrelated to your niche, with decent traffic, on top of your own domain.
I recently parked "cars.com.na" on top of "namhost.com", not even thinking twice about the implications this could have. Implications:
- Massive spike in backlinks. So much so that ....
- Google made our Page Rank 0 (this ban has since been lifted)
- Loads of useless traffic to our site
- And of course.... did I mention this:

Conclusion:
Seriously think what you are doing when you park domains on top of each other.
